VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT QUAID-E-
AZAM CHAIR IN PAKISTAN STUDIES AT UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, USA
The Ministry of Federal Education
and Professional Training in lieu of MOU signed with University of California,
Berkeley is inviting applications to fill the prestigious position of
"Quaid-e-Azam Chair Pakistan Studies" at University of California,
Berkeley. The position is open to all serving in rank of Associate
Professors or above on a regular basis in Public as well as Private
University.
BASIC ELIGIBILITY
(i) Ph. D Degree from HEC
recognized University / Institution in Pakistan Studies or Humanities &
Social Sciences.
(ii) Having significant post Ph.
D teaching research experience in a recognized university / Centre Research
Organization.
(iii) A respectable number of
publications in the last 5 years in the HEC recognized journals.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
(i) Maximum 55-years of age on
the closing date of the advertisement will be eligible.
(ii) Must be proficient in
English language
(iii) Familiarity with culture,
institutions and people of the host country.
(iv) Capacity and competence of
leadership to project the language, history and culture of Pakistan in the host
country.
(v) Experience in mentoring,
advocacy, communication, organizational (government / semi-government at
senior), budget management, research grants, diplomatic, media relations as
spokesperson and demonstrated involvement in academic staff associations, etc.
(vi) Membership of professional
or academic bodies, supported by documentary evidences.
(vii) Research leading to quality
publications during the tenure abroad is desirable.
(viii) Proficiency in computer
skills.
(ix) Should have social as well
as inter personal skills to encourage good image of Pakistan. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(i) The tenure of appointment
will initially be for a period of two (02) years on deputation basis / contract
basis, extendable to a maximum of three years on yearly basis, subject to
satisfactory performance based on evaluation, quarterly basis.
(ii) The pay and allowance would
be equivalent of BS-20/ BS-21 on the prescribed terms & conditions of
Government of Pakistan.

(ii) Those already in Government
/ Semi-Government Service are required to apply through proper channel.
(iii) Only short-listed
candidates in order of merit will be called for interview.
(iv) No TA/DA shall be admissible
for interview.
(v) Ministry reserves the right
not to fill the vacancy without assigning any reason thereof.
