MANAGER IMPORTS
A well-reputed organization is looking for an Import Manager. The Manager Import is responsible for overseeing and managing all import-related activities of the organization, including documentation, regulatory compliance, coordination with clearing agents, shipping lines, customs authorities, and internal departments. The role ensures timely and cost-efficient clearance of import consignments, accurate filing of GDs, and adherence to all customs and government regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage end-to-end import container clearance from port to warehouse.
- Coordinate with customs clearing agents, port authorities, shipping lines, and transporters.
- Monitor container movement, demurrage/detention timelines, and take preventive actions.
- Prepare and file Goods Declaration (GD) in WeBOC for all import consignments.
- Review import documents (BL, Invoice, Packing List, COO, Form-E, HS code classification etc.).
- Resolve objections, discrepancies, or queries raised by Customs or related authorities.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records for all import documents as per SOPs.
- Ensure full compliance with Pakistan Customs Rules Regulations, Laws, Clearing Procedures, FBR, SROs, Import Policy Order, EFS/Duty.
- Close coordination with Bank, LC handling, tax exemption regimes.
- Strong knowledge of WeBOC, PSW, cost control monitoring, and good team leadership.
- Good communication and negotiation skills with customs agents and shipping lines.
- Hands-on experience with GD filing and container clearance is mandatory.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in import operations, preferably in manufacturing or logistics field.
