CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Our client, a major Energy Planning
and Operations Organization, ensures reliable systems through integrated system
planning and market operations. It operates with professional independence,
transparency, and stakeholder accountability, aligned with international best
practices.
Role
Overview:
The CEO will lead the organization
from its formation stage through institutional development and strategic
maturity. Responsibilities include:
- Establishing the organization as a trusted, efficient,
and technically competent institution in Pakistan’s energy sector.
- Guiding regulatory compliance, stakeholder relations,
technology strategy, and operational excellence.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned
with national energy policies.
- Lead development of wholesale electricity market
framework, system operations reforms, and integrated power system
planning.
- Oversee real-time system operations, scheduling,
dispatch, settlement, and grid reliability.
- Build collaborative relationships with Ministry of
Energy (Power Division), NEPRA, licensees, market participants, and
development partners.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory
frameworks.
- Oversee financial and organizational management,
budgeting, and sustainability.
- Represent the organization nationally and
internationally.
Qualification
& Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy
Systems, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, or
related field from HEC-recognized institution.
- At least 20 years of experience in the Power or Energy
sector, including 5+ years in senior executive roles.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, and economic
frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic
leadership skills.
Preferred
Expertise:
- Power system operation, electricity markets, planning,
or transmission system management.
- Leading technical/policy organizations through reform
or evolution.
- Experience with independent system or market operators
(ISO, RTO, SO).
- Familiarity with international standards (ENTS-E, NERC,
etc.).
Contract

- Initial 3-year contract, renewable based on
performance.
