Company Overview
Our client, a Karachi-based company, seeks to appoint experienced and seasoned
professionals for its Legal Department. The professionals should be able to
provide proactive, high-quality advisory services and risk assessment in
compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The DGM position will
report to the Head of Legal and will work closely with all other functions
laterally.
DEPUTY
GENERAL MANAGER LEGAL – CORPORATE & REGULATORY AFFAIRS
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Legal risks to the Company’s functions are
proactively identified and, where appropriate, mitigated or minimized
- Provide legal assistance on all oil/gas infrastructure
projects, licensing and franchising arrangements
- Provide legal advisory on real estate transactions,
shipping and international trade
- Provide support on legal perspective of new business
propositions, structure joint ventures/partnerships
- Provide legal opinions on matters pertaining to
procurement and banking/financing arrangements
- Review employment/labor law matters, contract/vet
agreements, deeds and other instruments
- Support the implementation of compliance programs and
supervise team of lawyers
- Provide legal support to the senior management and
Board of the company
- Appear before quasi-judicial/regulatory forums, submit
representations and safeguard company’s interest
Education:
- Law Degree from HEC recognized Law School/University.
Solicitor, Bar-at-law, LL.M. or equivalent will be an added advantage
Experience:
- Preferably 8–10 years of professional experience in a
large national/multinational organization with 5–7 years of related
functional experience in a similar role
Requirements:
- Experience of working at a regulatory organization will
be an added advantage
- Drafting and interpretational skills are key factors
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Maintain professional discretion with sensitive and
highly confidential information
Age:
- Preferably not more than 45 years as of the last date
of submission
JUNIOR
MANAGEMENT POSITION – LEGAL
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle and monitor litigation cases before different
courts/forums through external counsels; review pleadings before filing
and maintain case status
- Vet agreements, MOUs, Addendums, and other legal
documents; render legal opinions if required
- Provide legal advisory services and assistance to
departments on different legal issues after reviewing Inquiry Reports,
Charge Sheets, Show Cause Notices, Court Orders, etc.
- Review contracts, agreements, letters, proposals to
ensure compliance with laws and regulations; raise issues with
legal/statutory implications
- Keep abreast of legal and statutory developments
pertaining to the company’s business
Education:
- Law Degree from HEC recognized Law School/University.
Solicitor, Bar-at-law, LL.M. would be an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience,
preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least
1–2 years in a similar role
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong interpretation and drafting skills
- Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and
decision-making skills
Age:
- Preferably not more than 33 years as of the last date
of submission
