VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for appointment to the following post of Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) under the project titled:

"National Program for Enhancing the Command Area in Barani Areas of Pakistan"

The appointment will be on a contract basis in the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (M/o NFS&R), initially for a period of one year or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The contract is extendable yearly based on performance evaluation.

The position will be filled strictly on merit in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and Finance Division.

Qualification & Experience

  • M.Sc. Agricultural Engineering / Water Resources, MA Economics, MBA Finance.
  • 12 years' experience in Public/Private sector dealing with water and agriculture sector.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in management of large-scale public-sector development projects related to water and agriculture.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding preparation, financing, procurement and implementation of public-sector development projects.
  • Experience in preparation of public-sector project proposals (PC-I, PC-II) relating to water and agriculture.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of basic IT tools and stakeholder communication.
  • Proven leadership qualities for managing public-sector development projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical approach to project management and implementation monitoring.
  • Capability of providing monitoring and evaluation services to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having experience in implementing public-sector development projects.

Job Description

  • Act as Deputy Project Coordinator (DPC) for the Federal Government project NPECA.
  • Work under the overall supervision of the Ministry of National Food Security & Research.
  • Assist the Ministry in administrative and financial matters related to FPMU and implementation of FSC decisions.
  • Assist the Ministry in timely transfer of matching federal grants to participating agencies.
  • Work closely with Provincial PMUs for effective implementation of the project.
  • Assist the Ministry in compilation of:
    • Periodic project monitoring reports
    • Progress reports
    • Working papers for FSC and FCC
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Ministry.

  3. Candidates must produce original:
    • Educational degrees
    • Diplomas
    • Experience certificates
    • CNIC
    • CVs at the time of test/interview.
  4. Candidates already serving in government departments should apply through the proper channel.
  5. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.
  6. The Competent Authority reserves the right not to fill the post or to withhold the appointment.
